--The Dusseldorf Higher Regional Court said Wednesday that European Union rules--which require the owners of pipelines to be different from the suppliers of the gas that flows within them--will apply to the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, Reuters reports.

--Operators of the $11 billion project backed by Gazprom PJSC to carry gas from Russia to Germany under the Baltic Sea had argued the rules were discriminatory, according to Reuters.

--The rules will cost the project additional time and money but won't stop its completion, Reuters reports.
