Gateway Mining Limited reported that strong intersections have been returned from the most recent program of Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling designed to test the down-dip extensions of the Montague Gold Deposit, within its 100%-owned Gidgee Gold Project in Western Australia. The results add significant momentum to Gateway's 2019 exploration campaign, coming on the back of the outstanding results announced recently from the Whistler Deposit. The two deposits are located 1.2km apart, and the impressive results returned from limited follow-up drilling programs undertaken late last year continue to demonstrate the considerable potential for the Gidgee Gold Project to develop into a significant gold camp. This recently completed program of Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling continues to confirm the presence of a significant high-grade gold mineralized structure immediately down-dip of the Montague historical open pit. The recent results include, GRC357: 5 meters at 11.5g/t Au from 104 meters; GRC358: 2 meters at 5.80g/t Au from 75 meters; GRC342: 9 meters at 4.24g/t Au from 89 meters; GRC330: 7 meters at 3.91g/t Au from 70 meters (within 15 meters at 2.10g/t Au) and; 4 meters at 24.1g/t Au from 239 meters ("Gordon's Lode"); GRC325: 5 meters at 4.47g/t Au from 70 meters; GRC360: 3 meters at 2.16g/t Au from 64 meters; GRC361: 7 meters at 1.56g/t Au from 78 meters. The mineralization remains open down-dip and is largely untested along strike. Additional drilling is considered likely to substantially expand the mineralized zone. The mafic-hosted shear zone has a moderate dip (3045°), resulting in a significant amount of the mineralization being located in shallow positions (<100m to date). In addition, the presence of the parallel, high-grade Gordon's Lode (4m at 24.1g/t Au) at depth, indicates that the potential for multiple structures is excellent. Mining of the historical Montague Open pit was limited to shallow, oxide mineralization. Extensions of the mineralization into primary fresh rock in the base of the pit have not been systematically tested. On this basis, Gateway believes that significant potential exists to expand these zones of remnant gold mineralization with additional drilling for inclusion in any future cut-back of the open pit. Given that the mineralization is very unconstrained and appears to be strengthening at depth, a decision has been taken to complete an additional round of drilling to expand the zone prior to committing to any Mineral Resource estimation work. This will also include a diamond tail on an existing RC pre-collar to further test Gordon's Lode at depth.
