September 26th, 2023 Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Head office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; President: Shigehiro Komaru) and Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) conducted "Traffic Accident-free (Jiko-Nashi) Campaign" at Sanyo Expressway Fukuyama truck stop on September 25, as part of the Autumn Nationwide Traffic Safety Campaign co-organized with Hiroshima Prefectural Police Headquarters Expressway Traffic Police Unit.

The Autumn Nationwide Traffic Safety Campaign aims to raise the public's traffic safety awareness to prevent accidents by properly following and complying with traffic safety rules and manners. To truck stop users, we distributed 200 Nashi pears and traffic safety goods wishing for their accident-free (Jiko-Nashi) driving.
We received responses that helped them to be more aware of traffic safety, such as being more careful than usual when driving expressways.
To prevent and decrease the number of future traffic accidents, we will continue to engage in traffic safety education and raise awareness in cooperation with police stations and local authorities.

Komaru Koutsu Foundation was established on September 9, 2013, to promote traffic safety awareness, hosting various traffic safety lectures in schools across Japan and carrying out educational activities to prevent traffic accidents. Furthermore, the foundation supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing opportunities for students overseas studying Japanese to present the results of their studies and organizing Japanese composition speech contests to raise traffic safety awareness and promote cultural exchange with Japan.
