Ford announced Tuesday that its Ford Pro commercial vehicle division has been selected by the City of Dallas to deploy a public network of electric charging stations.

The ten-year agreement also includes management of the electric charging infrastructure on behalf of America's fourth-largest metropolitan area, which has set itself the goal of moving to a 100% electric vehicle fleet by 2040.

Under the terms of the contract, Dallas will install Ford Pro charging stations at its main business sites, and will also use Ford Pro software to optimize their performance.

In 2020, the City of Dallas put in place a climate action plan to acquire electric commercial vehicles in order to green its fleet of 5,400 vehicles.
