Far EasTone Telecommunications : Monthly Financial Highlights – May 2024

Taipei, Taiwan- June 11, 2024- Far EasTone (TAIEX: 4904) today announced its unaudited financial results for May 2024. With contributions from the merger synergies with APT, continued customer upgrades to 5G, and stable growth in new economy business, the consolidated total revenue for May were NT$8,325 million, with a year-on-year growth rate of 13.5%. EBITDA surpassed the 3 billion mark, reaching NT$3,005 million, with an annual growth rate of 15.1%. Regarding net profit, although it was impacted by increased depreciation and amortization expenses from the merger, the benefits from the APT merger synergy and non-operating investment gains resulted in a 17.4% year-on-year growth rate in net income in May. This marked a new high since September 2016, reaching NT$1,046 million, with earnings per share (EPS) at NT$0.29.

As of May this year, the YoY growth rates for consolidated total revenue, consolidated EBITDA, and net income were 14.7%, 12.4%, and 8.2% respectively, reaching NT$42,188 million, NT$14,816 million, and NT$4,918 million. EPS were NT$1.36, maintaining strong growth momentum.

In May 2024, the average revenue per user (ARPU) for postpaid customers continued to rise, marking five consecutive months of steady growth since the merger. This increase boosted mobile service revenue, which consistently remained at the NT$5 billion level. This achievement represents 39 consecutive months of positive growth since March 2021.
