(Alliance News) - Estrima Spa, the manufacturer of Birò, the smallest four-wheeled electric vehicle, announced Monday that it has completed a strategic agreement with Compass Rent, the company specializing in the long-term rental service of Compass banca.

Also confirming the growth trend of microcars are recent registration figures that tell of strong sales growth in 2022 with 13,073 registrations, 18 percent more than the previous year when they totaled 11,051 vehicles.

"This collaboration marks a new milestone in the sustainable mobility market, offering Birò customers the opportunity to access advanced forms of rental to complement increasingly conscious and eco-responsible choices," the company explained in a note.

The agreement, operational throughout Italy and particularly in the cities of Rome and Milan where Birò has historically been present, is aimed at both the retail and business markets and "will allow customers to enjoy the benefits of mobility without the need to purchase."

Compass Rent, which specializes in long-term renting, with its rental formulas, will allow the use of a Birò vehicle for the period of time appropriate to the needs of each individual customer.

Estrima on Monday closed flat at EUR0.97 per share.
