(Alliance News) - Estrima Spa announced Monday that it has successfully concluded the technical, economic and financial preliminary investigation preparatory to the signing of an "agreement for innovation," the negotiating tool of the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy to support large R&D programs on strategic supply chains, in this case that of mobility.

The innovation agreement will support the implementation of the SULEB - Smart Ultra-Low Emission Birò - project, which will be financed with resources from the Sustainable Growth Fund.

The project envisages a total investment of EUR5.4 million and will benefit from a total facilitation of EUR2.5 million in the form of a contribution to expenditure on Industrial Research and Experimental Development activities, the company says.

The activity will take place over a 36-month time horizon within which financial disbursements of the contribution through advances and balances will also take place.

The proposing parties were Estrima as project leader, subsidiaries Brieda E C. Srl and Sharbie Srl with the participation of the Milan Polytechnic.

SULEB represents a strategic project of Estrima aimed at the development and realization of the future range of Birò, with fuel and propulsion systems that increase its efficiency, further minimizing emissions over the entire product life cycle.

Estrima is flat at EUR1.39 per share.
