ESI Energy Services Inc. announced earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2018. Revenue for the three-month period ended June 30, 2018 decreased by 29% to CAD 3,040,000 compared to CAD 4,252,000 during the same period in 2017. Virtually all of this revenue was generated in the United States. Activity levels for padding machines and oilfield services in Canada remained slow. This was primarily due regulatory and environmental impediments to pipeline construction. Net income decreased dramatically during the second quarter of 2018 from net income of CAD 862,000 during the three-month period ended June 30, 2017 to a net loss of CAD 258,000. The decrease in net income during the second quarter of 2018 was primarily due to the 29% decrease in revenue during the period. Funds flow from operations was CAD 276,000 during the second quarter of 2018 compared with CAD 1,991,000 during the same period in 2017, a decrease of 86%. Revenue for the six-month period ended June 30, 2018 decreased by 29% to CAD 4,622,000 compared to CAD 6,477,000 during the same period in 2017. Net loss increased dramatically during the first half of 2018 from net loss of CAD 190,000 during the six-month period ended June 30, 2017 to a net loss of CAD 1,606,000 during the same period in 2018. The increase in net loss during the six -month period ended June 30, 2018 was primarily due to the 29% decrease in revenue during the period. Funds flow from operations was a deficit of CAD 150,000 during the first half of 2018 compared with CAD 2,304,000 during the same period in 2017, a decrease of 107%.
