GERALD CHRETIEN IS APPOINTED MARKETING DIRECTOR

Trappes, November 30, 2015 - 7:00am (CET). Egide announces the appointment of Gérald Chretien to the newly created position of Marketing Director. The group strengthens its teams strategically in line with its development ambitions. Gérald Chretien, 59 years, Engineer degree from ISEP (Institut Supérieur d'Electronique de Paris) and co-founder of Vectrawave, joined the Egide group as Group Marketing Director since October 1, 2015.

As the Egide group continues to deploy its strategic plan, which includes a new commercial organization, enhanced productivity capabilities in its manufacturing plants and expanding its High Temperature Co-fired Ceramic capacity in Cambridge, MD, Gérald Chrétien was given the task of developing a structured and innovative marketing strategy. This will allow Egide to strengthen the reputation of the group in the growth markets it serves, specifically Thermal imaging, Optronics, Microwave and Power.

Gérald Chretien will be based in Trappes, in the administrative and business site of Egide, and will report directly to James (Jim) F. Collins, CEO of the group.

For Jim Collins: « We continue our strategic plan: the commercial reorganization initiated in 2014 is beginning to bear fruit, the installation of the HTCC line in our US ceramic factory is completed. It is important now to make sure we understand the markets we serve. In this way, we are looking to the future, and well beyond our plan of growth and profitability through 2018. »

Engineer degree from ISEP (Institut Supérieur d'Electronique de Paris), he began his career as a hardware engineer, first at CEA then for Philips TRT and Thomson LTT. In 1984, he joined FORT Fibres Optiques where he created the Transmission department. In 1986, he first joined Alcatel as Manager of the optoelectronic laboratory before taking part in the creation of Alcatel Optronics as Product Manager then becoming its Director of Marketing in 2000. He joined Avanex France in 2002 as Director of Marketing & product Strategy before being appointed in 2004, manager site for HighWave. In 2006, he co-founded Vectrawave and provides the head of Operations and Quality. Since October 2015, he is the head of the Marketing Department of the Egide Group.
