(Alliance News) - Edil San Felice Spa announced Wednesday that it has been awarded a EUR8.2 million contract for seismic and NTC 2018 upgrading works on the Calata San Domenica viaduct on the A56 section of Tangenziale di Napoli Spa.

The total duration of the contract is 23 months and work is scheduled to start this month. In addition to the amount awarded, a premium will be recognized in proportion to the reduction in the construction time of the work, up to a maximum of EUR700,000 in the case of bringing forward the delivery time by seven months.

The work in question involves the strengthening of elements characterized by deficiencies in resilient capacity, the replacement of existing bearings, and the provision of metal carpentry necessary to create seismic restraints resulting in the solidarization of the slabs at the Gerber saddles adjacent to the viaduct piers, as well as the seaming of the longitudinal joint between the decks of the two carriageways.

"I am thrilled to begin my journey as BUIR director of Edil San Felice with this new contract for extraordinary maintenance of Major Works commented Carmine Orsini, director of Engineering and Construction at Edil San Felice. It is essential to provide for the efficient and safe maintenance of critical infrastructure in the national territory, and I believe that Edil San Felice has the technical and administrative skills to be able to face these new challenges."

Edil San Felice's stock is down 0.9 percent at EUR4.41 per share.
