Eaton announced that Sun Life Stadium plans to implement an advanced light-emitting diode (LED) system designed to enhance the viewing experiences for stadium spectators and television audiences, while reducing energy use by as much as 75%. The new Ephesus Lighting LED system will be implemented for the beginning of the 2016 NFL football season. Sun Life Stadium is upgrading its stadium lighting with Eaton's Ephesus Lighting LED system to improve lighting performance, reduce energy usage and enhance the viewing experience for stadium spectators and television audiences.

The new LED system, with its instant-on capability, eliminates the warm-up period associated with more traditional bulb-based lighting such as metal halide products. This contributes to an enhanced fan viewing experience and enables venues to instantly resume lighting after concerts and other non-sports events and halftime shows. The Ephesus LED lighting system is brighter than the previous system and through its glare-control innovations, its fixtures shine more uniformly on the playing surface, creating a better stage for players and fans both in the stadium and those watching on high-definition television.

The versatility of an LED system also allows for operational flexibility and the creation of programmable light shows for fan entertainment. Ephesus LED solutions are easy to install, virtually maintenance-free for years and offer facilities the lowest total operating costs compared to other sports lighting systems.
