The DGTL electronic music festival has worn the badge of strong social engagement for years.

This is especially evident in its focus on sustainability and circularity. Partnering with ABN AMRO to promote inclusion and equal opportunities for all is one of the ways the festival will be deepening its social engagement in the coming years.

DGTL and ABN AMRO have been working together since 2018. They share the view that diversity and inclusivity are key drivers of social and economic progress. Starting this year, a series of activations at and around the festival will focus on equal opportunities and creating socially safe and welcoming dance floors for everyone. The new partnership will kick off with the upcoming tenth edition of the DGTL festival in Amsterdam in April and run until 2025.

Art and expression at DGTL

One of the DGTL stages, in the landmark NDSM crane, will be hosted by ABN AMRO and the Amsterdam-based foundation Heesterveld Creative Community. Heesterveld Creative Community was set up to encourage and facilitate creativity, collaboration and cultural entrepreneurship. Consisting of a group of creative locals from all sorts of disciplines, the talent hothouse leverages each of its members' unique artistic strengths to make the neighbourhood and the city more liveable. DGTL festivalgoers will be able to enjoy the musical talents of twelve artists - ranging from newcomers to established performers - in the intimate setting of the crane.

Ouchhh Studio's innovative art project DATA GATE will also be on show on the festival grounds. The enormous LED cube based on a design by Eylul Duranagac and Ferdi Alici is an exploration of mankind's all-embracing curiosity. Enhanced with additional insights generated by ABN AMRO for DGTL, the 15-ton art installation will bring data and insights about diversity and inclusion to life through sound and visuals on the 360 LED screens.

The Pastrami Film Company will also be creating a short, three-part documentary series directed by Dominique Gimberg in which performers, artists and ethics experts share insights and tell their story about inclusivity and diversity. The series will be shown on all DGTL's global social media channels, such as Instagram and YouTube, as well as on www.dgtl.nl

'Art brings people together - in museums, on the street and at festivals like DGTL. We're proud of this partnership and hope it will get the broadest possible palette of people behind our ambitions,' says Sander Bestevaar, Head of Partnerships, Events & Foundations at ABN AMRO. 'Following our collaboration with DGTL around sustainability and circularity, we are now partnering with them to accelerate on inclusivity and equal opportunities. Having been a partner in sports, society, and the arts and culture sector for many years, we know that sponsorship has a positive impact when it comes to achieving ambitions.'

DGTL believes the partnership will help to make real, lasting impact. 'This long-term partnership with ABN AMRO is an opportunity to show what a deeply meant drive for diversity and inclusion can accomplish,' adds Director of Brand Partnerships Development Brian van Vuure. 'Through various activations in the areas of innovative art, music programming and film, we want to get important conversations started, and above all to reach a wide audience through our platform and inspire them to join our mission going forward.'

DGTL festival will be held on 7, 8 and 9 April on the NDSM Wharf in Amsterdam.
