Deezer announced on Wednesday the launch of a new artist-centric streaming model, in collaboration with music label Universal Music Group (UMG).

This model has been 'designed to better remunerate the artists and music that fans enjoy the most', say the two groups, who say they drew on in-depth analysis of Deezer data.

Deezer will launch this new remuneration model in France in the fourth quarter of 2023, with other markets to follow.

The two companies have developed this new model with the aim of 'developing a business model that better reflects the real value of the fan/artist relationship'.
