Staying productive while working at home is certainly not as easy as it sounds.

Therefore, we started a monthly Microsoft Teams newsletter to help businesses and individuals navigate the platform. The newsletters cover anything related to Teams, ranging from the latest integrations, new features, collaboration tips, and more.

Microsoft Teams: In The News The Starbucks app in Microsoft Teams

As many of us continue to work remotely, in-person coffee catch-ups, casual connections, and mentor sessions have moved to Microsoft Teams.

For this reason, Microsoft has introduced a new app with Starbucks in Microsoft Teams. The app allows you to share the joy of Starbucks with your team members by sending them a personalized Starbucks eGift within any Microsoft Teams chat.

Whether it's a holiday gift, or you'd just like to show appreciation for work well-done, Starbucks eGift cards in Teams are a great, simple way to recognize your teammates.

Microsoft extends temporary limit increases for Teams live events until June 2021

Earlier this year, Microsoft announced a temporary increase in the standard attendee limitfor live events hosted with Teams, Yammer, or Stream. This week, the company has announced that it will be extending that limit increase until June 30, 2021.

Recently, Microsoft 365 live events have been put in the limelight as people can no longer gather for in-person events. In order to meet the growing needs of hosting virtual events, Microsoft chose to extend this limit to help better support customers' needs.

Live events run through Teams, Stream, and Yammer will continue to support up to 20,000 attendees, 50 events per tenant, and a 16-hour duration. The organizers can also take advantage of the live events assistance programto host a live event for up to 100,000 attendees.

What's New in Microsoft Teams?

Every month we love to highlight new features recently released for Microsoft Teams. Read over the updates below and check them out for yourself:

Noise Cancellation

Our real-time AI noise suppression feature automatically removes unwelcome background noise during your meetings. The AI-based noise suppression analyzes your audio feed filtering out the noise and retaining only the speech signal. You can also control how much noise suppression you want, including a high setting to suppress more background noise.

This feature can suppress unnecessary noise like shuffling papers, slamming doors, and barking dogs during a video call. AI-based noise suppression works by analyzing an individual's audio feed and using specially trained deep neural networks to filter out the noise and retain only the speech signal.

Presenter Mode

Microsoft Teams is now testing a new feature that will make life easier for virtual facilitators and presenters. With the upcoming Presenter View feature in Microsoft Teams for Windows 10 and macOS, your PowerPoint slides will appear in a new presenter view, which will make it much easier to navigate between slides.
