On the afternoon of Jan. 7th, COSCO SHIPPING heavy lift vessel MV DA XIN loaded three large offshore cargoes, sailing from Qingdao to the Americas. Taking the advantages of this type of vessel, and to enlarge cargo resources, COSCO SHIPPING firstly transported the large offshore cargoes which were supposed to be shipped previously by the semisubmersible vessel.

These three pieces of cargoes are 54,000CBM in all, including a Bridge Struction in length of 98.5m and weight of 345mt, a Bottom Jack in height of 30m and weight of 287mt, as well as a Top Section Jack Up in length of 52m, height of 14.5m, and weight of 143mt. The operation team of COSCO SHIPPING have tracked this project for more than one year. Also, they conquered the challenges of changing shipper, high technical requirements, and so on, then finally fixed this transport contract.

To ensure the perfect safety of the loading, COSCO SHIPPING not just worked out the operation plan, but also strengthened the crucial communication on operation among shippers, ship surveyors and the people who are responsible for lashing, effectively driving the whole project to proceed. From Jan. 1st to 3rd, three large offshore cargoes were loaded. With the assistance of floating crane, the Bridge Struction in length of 100m was accurately installed onto the welded bracket on the deck. To confront the heavy storm waves in winter, the experienced crew also help the shipper to lash all the cargoes.

MV DA XIN belongs to the 28,000DWT Da Type Ⅲ multipurpose heavy lift vessel. It has the tandem lifting capacity of 700 tons, which is designed with the bridge on forecastle and continuous flat deck. It is suitable for carrying overlength, oversized and overweight cargoes in the specialized shipping market. We believe that by the optimization of ship type upgrading, COSCO SHIPPING will be more competitive to offer wider and superior shipping service to all of our clients.
