Toronto stocks moved higher on Monday thanks to a strong performance in the energy, materials, real estate and financial sectors. Health technology was the only category to post declines in the session so far.

Canada's S&P/TSX Composite Index gained 0.90% at 20014.99 and the blue-chip S&P/TSX 60 rose was also up by 0.90% at 1197.87.

Shares of Comet Lithium were up 15% to 55 Canadian cents (40 cents) after the company said it is moving on to the second phase of exploration at its Liberty property in Quebec after identifying pegmatites in outcrop during its exploration program.


Other market movers:

Medicenna Therapeutics shares gained 7.8% to C$0.55 after the company said it appointed Jeff Caravella as its new chief financial officer, and that it is focusing its efforts on establishing a presence in Boston.
