Cobra Resources plc announced the appointment of Rupert Verco, who has been chief executive officer (CEO) of the company since 12 July 2021, as a director of the company with immediate effect. Rupert is a mining specialist with over 15 years' experience in Australia and internationally. His areas of focus include resource definition, reserve optimisation, mine planning, and mine operation.

Rupert has managed operations through all phases of the mining cycle. He is a fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and holds a First Class Honours in Geology. As CEO of Cobra, Rupert has overseen a transformational period incorporating numerous field programmes which have placed the Company in a position to define a potentially extensive, regionally scalable clay-hosted rare earth resource above and proximal to gold resources, while identifying significant gold mineralisation outside of current Mineral Resource Estimates.

Under Rupert's leadership, Cobra has expanded its land holding in the Gawler Craton to 3,261 km2, establishing the Company as a major player in the tier 1 mining jurisdiction of South Australia, and published an inaugural Sustainability Plan, reflecting the Board's commitment to developing an industry-leading approach to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
