China Candy Holdings Limited announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2017. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of RMB 11,471,000 compared to RMB 11,096,000 a year ago. The increase in revenue for the three months ended 31 March 2017 was mainly attributed to the increase in sales to the customers in the United States, and partially offset by the decrease in the sales to certain customers of the Group resulting from economic slowdown in the PRC in 2016 and intensive competition from other candies manufacturers in 2016. Loss before tax was RMB 5,124,000 compared to RMB 545,000 a year ago. Loss for the period was RMB 5,366,000 compared to RMB 810,000 a year ago. The increase for the three months ended 31 March 2017 was mainly due to the decrease in gross profit and increase in other loss. Total comprehensive expense for the period attributable to owners of the company was RMB 5,257,000 compared to RMB 828,000 a year ago. Basic and diluted loss per share was 0.39 cents compared to 0.06 cents a year ago.
