Central Japan Railway Co. announced that Vice President Koei Tsuge will succeed Yoshiomi Yamada as president of the company widely known as JR Tokai, effective April 1, 2014. Yamada will become chairman with the right to represent the company, also effective April 1, 2014 while Chairman Yoshiyuki Kasai will become the railway operator's honorary chairman, also with the right to represent the company.

Kasai will be tasked with spearheading the company's overseas projects, including one to land orders for the introduction of JR Tokai's maglev train technology in the United States.
