Carborundum Universal Limited reported earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended March 31, 2024. For the fourth quarter, the company reported sales was INR 11,834 million compared to INR 11,831.5 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 12,137.3 million compared to INR 12,194.3 million a year ago. Net income was INR 1,348.4 million compared to INR 1,371.2 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 7.1 compared to INR 7.22 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 7.08 compared to INR 7.2 a year ago.
For the full year, sales was INR 46,282.2 million compared to INR 46,010.4 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 47,788.4 million compared to INR 47,310.1 million a year ago. Net income was INR 4,612.5 million compared to INR 4,139.9 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 24.27 compared to INR 21.8 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 24.22 compared to INR 21.74 a year ago.
Carborundum Universal Limited is an India-based company, which manufactures and sells mainly abrasives, ceramics (industrial ceramics, refractories) and electro minerals. The Company's segments include Abrasives, Ceramics, Electrominerals, Power, IT Services and Others. Abrasive segment comprises of bonded, coated, processed cloth, polymers, power tools and coolants. Ceramics segment includes technical ceramics and super refractory solutions to address wear protection, corrosion resistance, electrical resistance, heat protection and ballistic protection. Electrominerals segment includes deals with the materials - fused aluminas, its variants, and silicon carbide - used in abrasives and refractories globally. The Company also provides information technology (IT) services, including IT infrastructure facility management services, software application development services and others. It has a manufacturing facility for phase change materials and specialty polymeric additives.
