TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Capitol Federal Financial Inc. (CFFN) on Thursday reported fiscal first-quarter profit of $22.5 million.

On a per-share basis, the Topeka, Kansas-based company said it had net income of 16 cents.

The holding company for Capitol Federal Savings Bank posted revenue of $85.5 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $54.2 million.

Capitol Federal shares have declined slightly more than 1% since the beginning of the year.
