Canadian National Railway Co. on Wednesday said it named Dominique Malenfant as executive vice president and chief information and technology officer, effective Sept. 1.

The Montreal railroad said Mr. Malenfant joins from Wabtec Corp., where he has been senior vice president of engineering and chief technology officer since that company's spinoff from General Electric Co. in early 2019.

Wabtec, a Pittsburgh provider of equipment, systems and services for the rail industry, said Eric Gebhardt would join the company as executive vice president and chief technology officer on Sept. 14.

Mr. Gebhardt, who spent nearly 30 years with GE, was most recently managing director at KCK-US, an investment firm focused on the energy, life-science and industrial sectors, Wabtec said.

Rob Reilly, Canadian National executive vice president and chief operating officer, has overseen the company's information and technology function since the departure of Michael Foster last November.
