The cool part about the Internet of Things (IoT) is that it's always changing and evolving. Of course, that also means there's always going to be more to learn about it, from new intelligent devices and systems to interesting use cases. Now, if you're anything like us, 'read more' was probably on your list of New Year's resolutions. So why not combine that goal with the desire to stay up to date and educated on IoT?

To give you a good head start, we've compiled five noteworthy IoT resources we're going to be following in 2021.

Bsquare has been an authorized Windows IoT distributor for over two decades, so it should come as no surprise that our first recommendation is the Microsoft IoT Twitter account. We get daily content including news, educational resources, and examples of the ways other Microsoft partners are utilizing IoT. It's also a great way to keep up to date on upcoming Microsoft IoT events. They offer a ton of free, expert-led educational experiences. (We definitely recommend it.)

Stacey on IoT

If you enjoy a dash of personality with your IoT reading, you'll love Stacey on IoT, which is an all-in-one resource. Stacey Higginbotham focuses on inside industry IoT information and smart predictions. She writes with style and humor and brings 18 years of experience covering technology for major publications, including Fortune, PCMag, and MIT Tech Review. You can check out articles and how-to pieces, listen to the podcast, and sign up for the weekly newsletter, which brings all the highlights right to your inbox.

IoT For All

Interested in a broader exploration of the application and development of IoT solutions? Consider exploring IoT For All. It includes articles, events and community that tackle IoT in its many forms, from supply chain management to tracking your pets with Bluetooth. Whether you're a seasoned IoT pro looking for thoughtful and sharp deep dives, or you're just starting to discover the possibilities of IoT, there's something for you.

Internet of Things Show

Tired of reading things? So are we, which is why we included the Internet of Things Show from Microsoft. This weekly video series, hosted by the fabulous Olivier Bloch, includes everything from customer and partner spotlights to product announcements and demos. Additionally, the Internet of Things Show also offers live-stream events called Microsoft IoT Deep Dives, hosted by Pamela Cortez, which provides a more in-depth look at IoT processes and products. If you're looking for a more extensive look at IoT, this is a great place to start.

King Arthur Baking Company Blog

Now, I know what you're thinking: what does the King Arthur Baking Company blog have to do with IoT? And the answer is…it doesn't, but our team is still obsessed with it. When the Bsquare team isn't thinking about device management or intelligent systems, we actually spend a lot of time on our Slack channel #eating-and-drinking talking about our latest homemade pizza adventures. IoT is fantastic, but it's nice to be able to unwind and learn about other things, too.

What do you recommend?

These resources are some of what's on our reading list for 2021, but we also know there's plenty of other cool sources of IoT information out there. What's been on your radar lately? Feel free to let us know.

Alternatively, if you're interested in drawing from our IoT expertise, we're ready to talk about that, too. After we get that pizza out of the oven.
