Brookfield Renewable Energy Partners L.P. Announces Management Changes; Announces Quarterly Distribution, Payable on September 30, 2015

Brookfield Renewable Energy Partners L.P. Board of Directors announced the appointment of Sachin Shah as Chief Executive Officer, effective August 6, 2015. Since joining Brookfield Renewable in 2011 and most recently serving as its President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Shah joined Brookfield Asset Management in 2002 and held a variety of senior roles prior to joining Brookfield Renewable. Mr. Shah succeeds Richard Legault, who is assuming the role of Executive Group Chairman, Renewable Power for Brookfield Asset Management, which includes oversight of all of Brookfield's renewable investments. Mr. Legault has been CEO of Brookfield Renewable since inception, over which time he has been instrumental in growing the business into one of the world's large publicly-traded pure-play renewable energy companies, with more than 7,000 megawatts of installed capacity and $20 billion of largely hydroelectric generation assets.
The company announced that the next quarterly distribution in the amount of $0.415 per LP Unit, is payable on September 30, 2015 to unitholders of record as at the close of business on August 31, 2015.
Brookfield Renewable Partners L.P. is a Bermuda-based globally diversified, multi-technology, owner and operator of clean energy and sustainable solutions assets. The Companyâs segments include hydroelectric, wind, utility-scale solar and distributed energy, and storage, which includes distributed generation and pumped storage, sustainable solutions, and corporate. Its sustainable solutions include renewable natural gas, carbon capture and storage, recycling, cogeneration biomass, nuclear services, and power transformation. It has approximately 33,000 megawatts of renewable power operating capacity and an approximately 155,000-megawatt development pipeline. It is also engaged in the nuclear service business.
