HIGHLIGHTS OF THE FOURTH QUARTER
- Sales revenue in the fourth quarter of 2013 grew by 3.3% (5% at current rate) particularly in favour of winter specialties in France, the United States and Spain.
Given the business increase and the control of the costs, the 2013 operating income will grow very significantly in comparison to 2012.
- On December 31, 2013, the group's net cash position is close to 160 million euros.
- In the United States, the settlement agreement aimed to put an end to the class action proceeding in California about the Children's Coldcalm® medicine obtained final approval from the Los Angeles Court on November 6, 2013. Since no appeal has been filed, this settlement has come into force.
A provision of one million US dollars was recorded for this litigation in 2011 covering all the costs relating to this settlement.
MEETING OF THE CENTRAL WORKS COUNCIL
On January 24, 2014, the Central Works Council of Boiron SA met within the frame of an information-consultation procedure. The General Management announced its intention to:
- Merge the two distribution facilities located in the Lyon area on the site of Francheville. This merger should not lead to job losses.
- Reorganize the IT department of Boiron SA. This project, which might have social consequences, could involve around fifty jobs until 2018.
