BIOSEARCH LIFE

The company's history begins in 1974 as part of Puleva, where it was Puleva's R&D department until its stock market listing in 2001. In 2008, the company acquired Exxentia and changed its name to Biosearch Life. The company has 3 production centers in Spain: Cáceres, Valladolid and Granada, where Biosearch Life has two fully automated production plants for the production of omega-3 oils and probiotics, and a natural extracts plant. Biosearch Life currently has more than 200 customers in more than 30 countries.

Biosearch develops healthy ingredients of natural origin around 3 product platforms: Lipids, it is based on two types of Omega 3. EPA and DHA. Probiotics, under the Hereditum brand, is based on a collection of strains unique in the market, as they are the only ones isolated from breast milk, and which in a multitude of clinical studies have demonstrated important properties for application in Children's Health and Women's Health; and plant extracts, comprising a wide range of products obtained from the inexhaustible source of active ingredients that the world of plants represents.

Biosearch focuses its activity on the areas of Infant´s Health, Women's Health, Functional Dairy, and Senior Health, both in the Functional Food and Consumer Healthcare markets. In 2019, the company had a global turnover of €22.8 million with a net profit of over €630 thousand. In 2020, the published results for the first 9 months of the year put the company's revenues at €19.4 million, up 15% compared to the same period of the previous year, with a net profit of €1.1 million, more than 3 times the 2019 result for the same period. The company has a total of 141 employees in Spain, with more than 40% of these being at our facilities in Granada.
