Benihana Participates in National Dine Out Day to Raise Funds for Hurricane Sandy Victims MIAMI, June 10, 2013 - Benihana Inc., the nation's leading operator of Japanese theme and sushi restaurants, has announced all three of its brands-Benihana, RA Sushi and HARU-will participate in National Dine Out Day on Wednesday, June 19. The Company will donate a percentage of all sales from that day to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund.

Benihana and other participating restaurants are encouraging diners across the country to enjoy a night out with friends and family in support of the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund. Chaired by New Jersey's first lady, Mary Pat Christie, the fund supports organizations working to rebuild New Jersey's communities and the more than 140,000 small businesses impacted by the storm.
"This is an opportunity for our restaurants across the country to come together to support this important cause," said Richard Stockinger, CEO and President. "We are proud to contribute to the Relief Fund and help the victims affected by the storm."
To date, the fund has raised $34 million from over 28,000 donors worldwide. They have also received 51 grants totaling $11 million to help rebuild the New Jersey community. With the contributions of Benihana and other participating restaurants on June 19, the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund aims to create programing to address the unmet needs of the storm's victims and create a long-term, positive impact on the community.
