Beleaguered party supply chain Party City has filed for bankruptcy but a financing deal will keep stores open and running.

The retailer has received $150 million in financed funding, according to a CNN report, and is working to reduce a $1.7 billion debt.

As of last fall the brand had 761 stores open and 149 Halloween pop-ups.

The news comes on the heels of Bed Bath and Beyond reporting a potential bankruptcy action.
