BANK MILLENNIUM S.A. On 8 January 2016 the 2nd (district) stage is being held of Economics Olympics, one of the sponsors of which is Bank Millennium Foundation.
The Economics Olympics are an educational competition, the aim of which is to provide young people with education in economics and to disseminate knowledge about the contemporary economy among post-gymnasium students. The Olympics intend to check the acquired economic knowledge, to foster development of independent thinking and support the development of particularly talented students.
Since 1987 the Olympics are being organised by the Polish Economics Society, contracted for this purpose by the Ministry of National Education. The subject of this year's 29th edition is 'Social Inequality vs. Economic Development'. Winners of the Olympics are accepted without recruitment procedures by several dozen universities. Moreover they are in to cash and other prizes.
Bank Millennium as one of the leaders on financial markets treats involvement in educational projects, such as the Economics Olympics, as part of its social responsibility programme.
