Dutch chipmaker equipment supplier ASML announced on Thursday the appointment of Christophe Fouquet, its current Director of Commercial Affairs, as its next Managing Director.

The 50-year-old Frenchman will take up his new post at the close of the next Annual General Meeting, scheduled for April 24, 2024, replacing Peter Wennink, who will leave the group on the same date.

In the position of chief business officer, Christophe Fouquet was already a member of the Veldhoven-based group's management board.

The executive - who was recruited from US group KLA-Tencor 15 years ago - has held a number of positions within ASML's technology, product and customer divisions.

He will now head a workforce of some 42,500.

The semiconductor equipment manufacturer also announced on Thursday that Martin van den Brink, its Chief Technology Officer, would be leaving the company at the end of next year's AGM.

Jim Koonmen - who joined ASML when it acquired Brion in 2007 - will be joining the Board as Chief Customer Officer.
