Apple couldn't wait last week to announce new AI features for iPhone, iPad and macOS, but at this week's developer conference WWDC it quickly became clear that they won't be coming anytime soon.

With the arrival of Apple Intelligence, voice assistant Siri will get a completely new interface, but some of the most powerful Siri upgrades won't be added until later. For example, Siri's awareness of what you are currently doing, so you can say, for example, "Use this as a contact photo. Siri's integration with apps will also be a long time coming.

Apple has also already announced that the first AI release will be labeled as a beta. Anyway, Dutch users will have to be patient. For rewriting or summarizing texts, American English must be set as the default language. Other languages may not be rolled out until next year.

Even Apple CEO Tim Cook is not sure if the company can completely stop AI hallucinations. In an interview with The Washington Post, Cook said he would "never claim" that Apple's new Intelligence system cannot generate false or misleading information.

Apple has planned major updates to popular apps such as Notes and Messages this fall. Mail will also get new features such as automatic categorization of messages in your inbox. But as it stands, the new Mail won't come until version 18.1 or higher at the earliest.

iPhone Mirroring on macOS Sequoia - the ability to mirror and interact with your iPhone on your Mac - is also still pending.
