TORONTO, January 18, 2012 - The Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute (CPBI), the national, not-for-profit organization dedicated to education and networking opportunities within the pension and benefits industry, has selected Brian White (Ontario) and Bob Thiessen (Northern Alberta) among its five Regional Volunteers of the Year for 2011. Mr. White and Mr. Thiessen are vice presidents in the Toronto and Edmonton offices, respectively, of Aon Hewitt, the global human resources consulting and outsourcing business of Aon Corporation (NYSE:AON).

For more than 50 years, CPBI has provided a wealth of education and networking opportunities for pensions, benefits and institutional investment professionals. This calendar of events and extensive library of resources relies heavily on the many dedicated CPBI volunteers across Canada.

Every year, the CPBI honours the commitment of its volunteers at the Regional and National Volunteer Awards - Celebrating Excellence and Commitment. Mr. White currently sits on the CPBI Ontario Regional Council and is a frequent speaker at industry events. Mr. Thiessen has been a member of the Northern Alberta Regional Council since 2000, holding a range of positions, including sponsorship committee member (2001 to 2005), chair (2005 to 2010) and co-chair (2010 to 2011).
