Ansaldo STS SpA reported consolidated earnings results for the half year ended June 30, 2016. For the period, the company reported revenue of EUR 602.7 million compared to EUR 632.4 million reported in the previous year. Operating Income (EBIT) is EUR 48.1 million compared EUR 57.9 million for the same period last year. Net profit is EUR 27.3 million or EUR 0.14 per share compared to EUR 39.3 million or EUR 0.20 per share for the same period last year. Cash flow used in operating activities was EUR 11.8 million compared to cash flow generated by operating activities EUR 24.6 million a year ago. Free operating cash flow before strategic investments shows an absorbed cash flow of EUR 17.3 million compared to the cash flow generation of EUR 17.4 million at June 30, 2015. The revenues have been negatively affected by the achievement of the final phase of some significant contracts in the Asia Pacific. This impact is significantly compensated by the production of new order orders.

For the full year 2016, the company expects revenue to be in range of EUR 1,350 million to 1,450 million. Return on sale is expected to be between 9.0% to 9.3%. The company expects orders to be between EUR 1,400 million to EUR 2,000 million and order backlog to be between EUR 6,300 million to EUR 7,000 million.
