New Jersey American Water Announces Operations Staff Appointments in its Central Region

VOORHEES, N.J. (January 19, 2017) - New Jersey American Water recently announced two promotions and one new appointment in Operations serving its Central Region.

Mark Lombardi of Edison, N.J., has been promoted to the role of Superintendent, Field Operations, for the Netherwood Operations Center. In this role, he will oversee field services operations, continue to improve the customer experience and drive efficiency. Lombardi joined New Jersey American Water in 1990 as a utility mechanic, and has since progressively assumed more responsibility. During his career, Mark has held supervisor positions in Field Operations, Construction and most recently in Production where he gained extensive emergency response experience. He currently holds T-1 and W-3 NJDEP operator licenses. Melissa Jorda of Raritan Township, N.J., has been promoted to Operations Supervisor I at the Raritan-Millstone Water Treatment Plant. Jorda joined New Jersey American Water in 1986 and has held various operations positions including Maintenance Planner and most recently Operations Supervisor II. She has driven the development of maintenance and regulatory compliance programs during her tenure, has extensive experience with asset management business systems and held a leadership role in the Business Transformation implementation.

Jorda earned a bachelor's degree in business from Thomas Edison State University and an associate's degree in computer science from Raritan Valley Community College. She currently holds T-1 and W-1 NJDEP operator licenses.

Donna Slack of Holland, Pa., has joined New Jersey American Water as an Operations Supervisor I at the Netherwood Operations Center. Slack has built her career in operations and brings a strong background of driving efficiency and continuous improvement in field operations and customer service. She has held numerous field and management positions during her career, including 18 years with Verizon in southeastern Pennsylvania.
