PENNSYLVANIA AMERICAN WATER HONORS YARDLEY EMPLOYEE WITH EXTRA MILE AWARD HERSHEY, Pa. (January 7, 2013) - Pennsylvania American Water announced today that Yardley area employee Jeff Chamberlain has been recognized with the company's "Extra Mile Award," which is a monthly recognition program that rewards outstanding employees who demonstrate a high level of customer service.

"Jeff was chosen as our December 2012 winner from a pool of very impressive nominees," said Pennsylvania American Water President Kathy L. Pape. "Our Extra Mile program provides an opportunity to spotlight employees, such as Jeff, who exemplify Pennsylvania American Water's dedication to providing high-quality customer service everyday."
Chamberlain was nominated by his supervisor for his efforts in training coworkers on new software processes, as well as providing technological expertise to colleagues across the state. In addition, he was recognized for his "exemplary" actions during Hurricane Sandy by working around the clock to help maintain water service for Pennsylvania American Water customers, while his own home was without power and his neighborhood was devastated by storm damage.
Chamberlain, a resident of Levittown, PA, is production superintendent for southeast Pennsylvania and has been with Pennsylvania American Water since 1972.
The Extra Mile award encourages Pennsylvania American Water's more than 1,000 employees across the commonwealth to nominate coworkers who deserve recognition for their customer focus and for serving as role models for their peers.
