WHAT:

New Jersey American Water, the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA), and the Cramer Hill Community Development Corp. (CHCDC) in Camden will announce the construction of "Nueva Vida III," 12 single family homes that will be the first urban development of its kind in the nation to be labeled an EPA WaterSense community.

 
New Jersey American Water will donate $750,000 to Nueva Vida, a portion of which will be used to install WaterSense plumbing fixtures, washers and dryers, and smart water meters designed to help home owners conserve water, monitor water usage and save money on water bills. Construction of the homes will begin this spring and be complete by the end of the year.

WHY:

Through the DCA Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Program, New Jersey American Water is working with neighborhood organizations and municipalities to invest in the communities where the company provides water service. Nueva Vida will be an example to consumers of the benefits of using water wisely to conserve an essential natural resource and save money on water bills.
