The European Commission has sent Amazon a request for information under the Digital Services Act (DSA).

Specifically, it is asking Amazon for more information on the measures taken by its platform to comply with the DSA obligations relating to the transparency of recommendation systems and their parameters.

The company will also have to provide more information on the design, development, deployment, testing and maintenance of the Amazon Store advertising library online interface, as well as supporting documents relating to its risk assessment report.

Amazon must provide the requested information by July 26, 2024 at the latest. Based on the evaluation of the responses, the Commission will assess the next steps.
