Åsa Nordström has been appointed as new CEO of Alelion Energy Systems AB.
She previously held the position of Sales and Marketing Manager for Alelion and has been serving as Acting CEO for the company since August.

"Åsa has done an outstanding job as Acting CEO and established her position both internally and externally as an excellent manager and leader for the company. Her valuable input along with her solid understanding of the business and the products make a combination that is exactly what the company needs at this point in time," says Jan Forsberg, chairman of Alelion's board of directors.

Åsa Nordström has been with Alelion since 2016 and until August this year held the post of Sales and Marketing Manager. Åsa Nordström has a degree in Business and Economics and has long experience in international marketing, marketing communication and sales of technology solutions. Before coming to Alelion she worked for many years in both national and international posts in sales and marketing communication for SKF.

Over the last year Alelion has increasingly focused on the special vehicle segment that demands more complex high voltage battery solutions. In this segment that includes for example terminal trucks, container vehicles and construction machinery, a fast and comprehensive electrification is currently underway in order to meet heightened environmental requirements regarding particles, noise and carbon dioxide. The company was recently pleased to announce that Alelion high voltage batteries passed tests for battery certification for use in road-going vehicles, and in mid-December a framework contract with Finnish Cargotec was announced along with an initial order from one of Cargotec's subsidiaries for high voltage prototype batteries.

"Alelion is constantly adapting to the market's demands and changing conditions so as to locate segments where we can achieve the best possible commercial yield. A world where more and more sectors are becoming electrified and where lithium-ion technology offers revolutionary possibilities to replace fossil based solutions, holds enormous potential for Alelion," states Jan Forsberg.

"Alelion holds a very interesting position in a key segment for the changeover to a more sustainable use of energy. It is going to be extremely exciting to continue leading this company during a period when more and more segments and products are going to need lithium-ion based solutions in order to meet the demands of increased electrification," says Åsa Nordström.
