Wireless Industry Veteran to Drive Strategy and Management of Airvana's Global Femtocell Product Portfolio

CHELMSFORD, Mass., Jan. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Airvana, Inc. (Nasdaq: AIRV), the company transforming the mobile experience, today announced the appointment of Glenn Laxdal as vice president of femtocell product management. In this role, Laxdal will drive global product strategy for the company's HubBub(TM) CDMA and UMTS femtocells as Airvana advances toward global deployments with mobile operators and through its multiple OEM partners.

Laxdal brings to Airvana more than 15 years of experience in wireless infrastructure and telecom. Most recently, he served as vice president of global product management for Nortel's CDMA and LTE Carrier Business where he contributed to the growth and success of that unit -- today a multi-billion dollar business. Previously, Laxdal held roles with Nortel in marketing, finance and operations.
