Amino shortlisted for prestigious industry award

6 Jan 2012

Amino Communications, leaders in IPTV/OTT solutions, has been shortlisted for a prestigious industry award for its Freedom Jump OTT companion media centre.

Industry analysts IMS Research has selected the device for the "Set Top Box" category in the annual TV Innovation Awards which take place at CES in Las Vegas next week. Winners will be announced at a reception at the Monte Carlo on January 9th.

IMS Research President, Ian Weightman said: "One of the main reasons that the TV Innovation Awards have become so sought after is that each entry is judged on a completely level playing field. This ensures that companies, ranging from the biggest names in consumer electronics to innovative start-ups, can measure objectively how their products stack-up against those of their competitors."

Powered by the CE4150 Intel® Atom core processor, the Freedom Jump works alongside existing cable or satellite set-top boxes to add an exciting new layer of content that is blended seamlessly with an operator's branded user interface. This allows viewers to access a wealth of additional content available on the open Internet such as movie-on-demand services, catch-up TV, Internet music services and social networking.
