BERN, Nov 1 (Reuters) - The Swiss National Bank is in wait-and-see mode, weighing up several uncertainties before deciding where to take its monetary policy next, Chairman Thomas Jordan said on Wednesday.

The weakening economic outlook could absorb some inflationary pressure, while the impact of previous rate hikes and the geopolitical situation, especially in the Middle East, needed to be assessed, he told an event in Bern.

"So these are the big uncertainties. Given the relatively good position that you're in, having inflation only at 1.6 or 1.7%, we can afford to wait and see what happens with the next outlook," Jordan said. (Reporting by John Revill, Editing by Rachel More)
