(Alliance News) - UK Oil & Gas PLC on Tuesday said it began swab testing at its Pinarova-1 site in Turkey, following the delivery of equipment.

The London-based exploration and production company, which focuses on projects in the UK and Turkey, said the seven-inch perforation guns will be deployed following normal site rig up and necessary safety and environmental checks.

UKOG's site representative will monitor and quality control the full operational programme, the company said.

It said further updates will be made in "due course".

UKOG holds a 50% non-operated interest in Pinarova-1 and the surrounding 305 square kilometre Resan licence. This also includes the Basur-1 light oil discovery, which is currently undeveloped.

Shares in UKOG were down 0.6% to 0.018 pence each in London on Tuesday afternoon.
