The conference provides a forum for leaders in the global Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) industries. Both men are founders of wot.io.

Proithis served as an expert presenter on a panel entitled "The Alphabet Soup of IoT: Our Digital Life on a Smarter Planet," which examined the marketing hype versus the business reality and very real value in connecting things to a digital life, smarter planet, and everything else.

Gilley was featured on the panel "Relevant Data Making Big Data Work," focused on the role of big data analytics in the consumerization of M2M technologies. The session covered the kinds of data-based decisions enterprises will need to make in order to gain value and competitive advantage from the flood of data generated by M2M technology. He also contributed to the panel "Contextualization: Knowing the Where, When and Why," focusing on the context and perspective BI solutions provide in managing real-time data to make better-informed decisions.

The sessions took place at the conference, held this week at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
