A scheme to build a new home on a piece of amenity land in St Osyth has been rejected.

The plans for a bungalow on the site in Withrick Walk have been refused by Tendring District Council (TDC). The rectangular plot of land has a number of trees on it - four of which are protected.

The development is a repeat of one which was turned down and the decision upheld at appeal more than ten years ago.

TDC decided that due to the detrimental impact of the bungalow and the potential environmental harm to the trees it was an unsustainable development.

St Osyth Parish Council also opposed the proposal and there were seven letters of opposition received from residents.
