Industrial production index (IPI) increased by 5,2 % in November 2012, compared with November 2011. The development was affected by a rise in manufacturing by 6,3 % and by a decline in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 1,2 %, in mining and quarrying by 4,6 %.

The increase of the total industrial production was affected most considerably by an increase in manufacture of transport equipment by 23,3 %, manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment by 1,4 %, manufacture of electrical equipment by 4,7 %, manufacture of textiles, apparel, leather and related products by 2,6 % and in manufacture of food, beverages and tobacco products by 2,5 %. The volume of production decreased mostly in manufacture of rubber and plastic products and other non-metallic mineral products by 4,8 % and other manufacture, repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 4,9 %.

In terms of the main industrial groupings, production of investment goods increased by 15,2 %, production of durable consumer goods by 0,4 % and production of intermediate goods by 0,2 %. Production related to energy was lower by 1,5 %. Production of non-durable consumer goods did not change.

After seasonality adjustment, industrial production decreased by 1,8 % in November 2012 compared with October 2012.

Over the first eleven months, IPI increased by 11,5 %, year-on-year, of which in manufacturing by 13,6 %. Production decreased in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 0,2 %, in mining and quarrying by 6,4 %.

The total increase of industrial production was affected mostly by a growth in manufacture of transport equipment by 48,1 %, manufacture of basic metal and fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment by 5,5 %, manufacture of textiles, apparel, leather and related products by 6,6 %, manufacture of electrical equipment by 8,3 % and in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 2,2 %. Production decreased mostly in manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products by 11,6 % and in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products by 10,9 %.

In terms of the main industrial groupings, production of investment goods increased by 31,5 %, production of intermediate goods by 1,9 % and production of non-durable goods by 1,6 %. Production related to energy decreased by 3,3 %. The volume of production of durable consumer goods did not change.

Note: Industrial production index represents volume production changes in its natural expression. Data are adjusted from the influence of the number of working days by programme DEMETRA and during processing of every month they are back-casted from the beginning of the time series.  In November 2012 the number of working days was higher by one day compared with the corresponding period of 2011 and also it was higher by three days since the beginning of the year.
