Strategic Healthcare Programs, LLC (SHP), a healthcare data analytics and benchmarking company, announced the addition of Integrated Alerting to the existing interface between its home health performance improvement software and the Homecare Homebase (HCHB) solution.

Clients of HCHB now have access to a new style of SHP interface where both transmission of data and retrieval of all SHP alerts takes place directly within the HCHB application.

A host of real-time coding and documentation ("OASIS scrubbing") alerts, now displayed within the HCHB solution, increases the efficiency of chart review.

"The assimilation of SHP alerts into HCHB OASIS is cutting our review time by 50 percent," said Carol Elrod, Director of Continuing Quality Improvement, AT Home Care, Richmond, Virginia.

Other alerts and reports on the SHP dashboard help with compliance, identifying patients at risk of rehospitalization, flagging patients better suited for hospice services, providing cost and financial data, and integrating it with patient experience scores and comments (HHCAHPS), thereby providing the full picture of an agency's performance. This new functionality allows managers to be even more proactive in addressing issues as they arise.

"SHP is committed to helping providers continuously improve patient care and experience while protecting their bottom line," said Barbara Rosenblum, Founder and CEO of Strategic Healthcare Programs. "Providers of all sizes and locations benefit from the strong partnership between HCHB and SHP to jointly deliver advanced functionality."

"By expanding our existing partnership with SHP we are able to provide current interface users an even more robust tool to manage patient alerts and ultimately their financial health," said Tom Maxwell, Chief Strategy Officer for Homecare Homebase. "The integration of our best-of-breed technologies ensures agencies can be even more responsive to changing patient status and allows them to manage alerts in real-time. At HCHB we constantly strive to provide agencies better tools to manage staff, costs and outcomes, but ultimately tools that ensure they are able to provide the very best in patient care."

With SHP, clients have access to a comprehensive suite of online, real-time interactive analytic tools that improve accuracy and payment while at the same time helping agencies prepare for the upcoming implementation of ICD-10 and OASIS-C1 in 2014.
