MOSCOW, July 17 (Reuters) - Inflationary expectations for the year ahead among Russian households rose to 12.4% in July, up from 11.9% in June, the central bank said on Wednesday.

The bank is grappling with stubbornly high inflation. In June it held interest rates at 16%, while signaling the possibility of a significant increase to as high as 17-18% at its next meeting on July 26. (Reporting by Anton Kolodyazhnyy Writing by Maxim Rodionov Editing by Mark Trevelyan)
