Mölnlycke Health Care today announces a decision to expand its manufacturing site in Wiscasset, Maine.  USD 5.5 - 7 million (EUR 4 - 5 million) will be invested in the new facility, which will house the Company's Brennen mesher and porcine tissue manufacturing operations, currently located in Minnesota.

Mark Dignum, Mölnlycke Health Care's Site Director in Brunswick and Wiscasset, said:

"Moving our Brennen and porcine tissue manufacturing to Wiscasset is the next step in developing our North American hub here in Maine, putting all of our production and converting at two main sites, in close proximity of each other.

"The move will also bring further investment and new competencies to the local area, contributing to the economy here in Wiscasset."

In addition to the manufacturing site in Wiscasset, Mölnlycke Health Care opened a new USD 47 million (EUR 35 million) factory in Brunswick in September 2013.

Headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, Mölnlycke Health Care's history dates back to 1849, when it was founded as a textile manufacturer.  The Company has over 7,400 employees across over 30 countries and has been present in Maine since its acquisition of Wiscasset-based Rynel in 2010.
