State Secretary George Ciamba attended today, 25 January 2017, a meeting with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Romania, Cord Meier-Klodt.
The two officials reviewed the stage and prospects of Romanian-German relations, both sides confirming their willingness and interest for increasing the pace of cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
The State Secretary reiterated the importance that Romania gives to its relation with Germany, both in terms of bilateral ties and Romanian-German cooperation within the EU and NATO.
During the meeting, they also discussed the issue of the German minority in our country, a particularly important pillar of the bilateral relations concerning the 20th edition of the Romanian-German Joint Commission on the problems of German ethnics in Romania, which will be hosted, this year, by Romania.
