KABUL - Foreign Minister H.E Salahuddin Rabani met with the Representative of European Union and the Ambassadors of Germany, Britain, and France in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan this afternoon.

At the outset, European Unions' Representative for Afghanistan Mr. Michael Skjold Mellbin provided detailed information about the lifted economic sanctions on Iran and said he was hopeful that lifting these sanctions would be beneficial for the people of Iran, the region, and the world and be effective for commercial and investment growth in Afghanistan.

Afterwards, His Excellency Salahuddin Rabani said, 'Afghanistan has always wanted a peaceful solution to the nuclear issue of Iran and welcomes the lifting of these sanctions. Afghanistan is also very optimistic about economic outcomes in the region, especially the extension of economic relations between Afghanistan and Iran.
